At Sol Food, we believe preparation is part of the magic. From the way you warm your liquid to the first sip, every step is a gesture of presence and care. Below is our favourite way to prepare cacao. Feel free to make it your own.
HOW MUCH CACAO?
- 11–21g — gentle daily dose
- 28g — creative boost or meditation
- 34g — movement or flow practice
- 42g — full ceremonial journey
- 8–11g — lucid dreaming dose (mid-sleep cycle)
- 21g twice daily — cardiovascular support (reduce to 15g after 6 months)
HOW TO MAKE YOUR CACAO
Warm your liquid gently
Pour your chosen liquid into a small pot and warm it slowly over low heat. Avoid letting it boil. If you’re using a kettle, let the water cool slightly after boiling. The goal is to keep the cacao’s nutrients and spirit intact.
Add your cacao and stir with care
Place your desired dose of Sol Food Cacao into the warm liquid. Use a wooden spoon or whisk to stir gently. Watch as the cacao melts into the water, creating a rich, earthy blend. This is your time to slow down and be present.
Blend until creamy (optional, but beautiful)
For an extra smooth and velvety texture, pour the mixture into a blender or use a stick mixer. Blend for 10–15 seconds until frothy. This step brings a luscious, full-bodied feel to your cup.
Sweeten cacao and season to your taste
Add your chosen sweetener and any spices — cinnamon, cayenne, vanilla, or whatever your body is craving. Taste and adjust until it feels just right for you in this moment.
Serve and sip with intention
Pour your cacao into a favourite mug. Take a moment. Breathe deeply. Hold the cup in both hands and set an intention, or simply give thanks. Sip slowly. Let it warm you from the inside out.
